A Dangerous Mind

This is call for an immediate Death to Hate, from wherever it comes.
Americans who hate others who hate them. Death to hate!
Others who hate Americans for hating them. Death to Hate!
Governments who push the fear button to direct hate. Death to Hate!
CIA spooks who stir up hate on blogs and elsewhere. Death to Hate.
Beware anyone who is telling you and me who to hate. Their agenda is hateful.
Death to Hate!

If it is a choice between the looney left and the mean-spirited right... well, I always enjoyed Bugs Bunny more than I ever did that wimpy, Mickey Mouse.

The Science of Hollywood is sometimes an art, but mostly a storytelling craft. Films are about telling a story. And the best, tell stories in ways so compelling that they seize out attention and hold it for two or more hours.
How many science lectures can do that?
All films require the suspension of disbelief because movies are a check out pass from everyday reality. It is a time-honored tradition often necessary to keep sane in an insane world.
We leave a theater after a mini-vacation, feeling refreshed and often uplifted. The fictional depiction of reality allows us to see the everyday experience with fresh eyes, at least momentarily.
Long live sprocket holes, and the thirty-five millimeter pictures of life they portray. We need them.
(And as a self-serving footnote, I need of them to further my art and craft.)

For me, laughter accompanies Transcendence.
You know, the kind that comes from so far down deep in your soul, that you can hear the echoes from inside. When that happens, the pain is gone -- for good!
I once knew a group of Sufi mystics who adored Abbott and Costello. My choice, though, is always Groucho, Harpo, & Chico.
Everything in this post is factual, and from my direct experience.
No kidding!
(Have survived colon cancer, surgeries without anesthesia, fifteen years of HIV, bankruptcy, and much, much more. Earned a Masters Degree in the transcendence of pain -- physical and emotional -- so I write with some authority).
BTW: I am still sane...
